Hey guys, I'm debating getting into some space marines, however, there are so many different factions of space marines and chapters that I dont know what I want to dive into yet (in terms of models) so I was wondering what codex's/supplements are there for space marine type factions? What all is in each? Which are completely not worth getting? Thanks!

Hyperspace

Codex: Space Marines - has all the basic unit entries and chapter tactics for several loyalist chapters, plus Black Templars. Contains Gladius Strike Force and other formations.

Angels Of Death - contains unit entries for Cataphractii Terminators, Cataphractii Captains, and Contemptor Dreadnoughts, plus more formations, MFDs, and chapter specific objectives/relics.

Curse Of The Wulfen - Space Wolves stuff

Codex Dark Angels - DA stuff

Codex Blood Angels - ...You get the idea.

Codex Space Wolves - Main source for SW rules.

Codex Grey Knights - Contains stuff for Grey Knights, formations, big detachment, etc.

Clan Raukaan - Contains rules, relics, fluff on the Iron Hands.

Sentinels Of Terra - Contains rules, relics, fluff on the Imperial Fists 3rd company.

Various FW Imperial Armor books - I believe every single IA book has some Marine stuff, sadly.

Shield of Baal - Moar Blood Angels, Flesh Tearers, etc.

Probably three or four more that I forgot.

I'd advise getting the main Space Marine codex first, reading fluff, deciding your chapter, and then getting whatever books you want for that chapter. Angels Of Death is pretty OK, it has nice (read: broken) psychic powers, and chapter specific rules.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

You forgot Deathwatch (and kinda' Imperial Agents)

For FW, 90%+ is covered in IA 2 and the Badab updates (characters + chapters). If you really like marines, there's the Horus heresy series and the more chronologically-contemporary (and far-shorter) Badab series
