Greetings,
I've finally got back to converting my old Ironstrider. I didn't like the fact that it felt a little bit too "busy" with both rider and servitor below. It really messed up my sense of aesthetics, but rather than simply removing the servitor as many others that felt the need for changes in Ironstriders, I've removed the rider (or rather I simply didn't glue him on top).

As you can see I've strapped a couple of autocannons on top where the rider should go, also his seat had to go so I've grabbed some putty and modelled the roof of the vehicle. When it was still soft I have pushed it it with a little bit of glue to make it look snug and comfy on top. I'am pretty pleased with finished product. It also "saved" about 2-3 millimeters but I don't think that should be a problem with anyone I want to play against.

Since I don't like spare parts I've used the mantle of what should be part of the gun to cover the servitor a little bit, making it look like actual AV 11 rather than riding in the open with machine strapped to your back.

What do you guys think?

I have to admit, I like the overall idea as well. It gives it a bit more of the Mechanicus look to me.

Excellent conversion.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Looks a lot better this way, the rider always looked rather ungainly perched on top like that.

A Squeaky Waaagh!!

Camkhieri: "And another very cool thing, my phones predictive text actually gave me chicken as an option after typing robot, how cool is that."'

Meercat: "All eyes turned to the horizon and beheld, in lonely and menacing grandeur, the silhouette of a single Grot robot chicken; a portent of evil days to come."
