Thanks frand I've only come across it for my necron pylons, and the rule about it ignoring jink (on my GA's) so have had little exposure to the rule outside this.

So basically I draw the beam, and it it comes to an ongoing combat it stops?

No Klowny. The beam rule of pylons is not the same as the beam rule for Psychic Powers. Although you can draw some reference from it.
