Greetings Dakkadakka.
So I'd totally forgotten about this formation since I've never seen it used (plus I don't know many people who own three Stormravens) but how do you think this would fare?
Angels Fury Spearhead Force
Ten tactical marines, flamer, heavy flamer, teleport homer (free)x2
Ten tactical marines, grav-gun, heavy flamer, teleport homer (free)
Three stormravens
Archangels Strike Force
Terminator Librarian, extra mastery level, Veritas Vitae
Five terminators with two TH/SS and three lightning claws (x3)
OR
Golden Host
Commander Dante
Five Sanguinary Guard with three swords, one axe, one power fist (x3, one squad has chapter banner)
Now this could be a very short game. The angels fury formation can come on turn one, three stormravens in your face that early is not to be sneezed at, but you've gotta pass that reserve roll or you're sunk. Sure you get a re-roll but we've all rolled double ones at some point.
However if they do come in you've got three AV12 jinking fliers, survive the enemies turn and you've got fifteen terminators/sanguinary guard that can deepstrike without scatter and charge straight in. As for that second reserve roll the archangel formation gets a re-roll and the golden host can CHOOSE what turn to arrive. Awesome sauce. Also I BELIEVE (correct me if I'm wrong) the angels fury rule that allows accurate deepstrike chargers overrules the golden hosts rule that they can charge from reserve but as a disordered charge so they will be getting those bonus attacks.
As a side note remember the tactical squads have to get out of the stormravens to use their teleport homers, if you manage to come on turn one you'll have to skies of fury them onto the table and hope the sergeant survives...
Thoughts?
