Hi all, hoping for a bit of advice on good ways to equip a ten man tartaros unit that was on my doorstep this afternoon.
It will either be arriving via deepstrike thanks to Perturabo, or rolling up in a Spartan.
I was thinking two plasma blasters, three pairs of lightning claws and three chainfists. Powerfists on everyone except the Sgt, who'll have a power weapon.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, as I prefer to play WYSIWYG.

Cheers

I've always disliked LC on terminators as it seems a waste to toss terminators at 3+ save units.

for all of my Terminators I've gone 1-in-5 chain fists, everything else is a power fist (power axes on occasion too), and then whatever heavy weapons I feel like.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

4 chainfists, 2 heavy weapons (assault cannons for me, BA), and the rest power weapons except the sgt, who gets a powerfist.

At 10 man I go 3 chainfist 7 power fists 2 plasma blasters is decently killy vs everything and isn't to expensive.

Cheers all, definitely seems like dropping the lightning claws is a good idea. I might put a power maul or hammer on the Sgt for IW fluff, then a mix of fists on the rest.

Hammer fits fluff plus gives you some extra high strength hits.

I1 but so is quite a few termy weapons.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I like lc on termies but if i do i dont mix, i run 5 in a phobos all double lc and they just go hunting power armoured important squads while costing me very little.

It partly depends on what you want to use the termies for. Big smashy assault unit (you mentioned rolling up in a Spartan), then powerfists and such will be of use. Me, I run my 10-man unit cheap, with just power axes all around, 2 plasmas, and the grenade harness. That way, it doesn't hurt too much when they die, they can still kill stuff, and they do a good job as a beefed up scoring unit. I have other stuff like Palatines and Phoenix Terminators when I want the smashy/killy unit.

Cheers for the input all. Since my army can obliterate av13 and below without a problem, but will struggle against av14, I think 4 chainfists, 5 powerfists, and two plasma blasters is the way to go. I might go with volkite and power maul on the sgt just for cool factor.
