Hello people. So I'm thinking about using a spartan assault thank to go with my Gal Vorbak and I was wondering how I should gear it up. What's better ? The quad guns or the laser destroyer ? And what about the hull and etc. ?

Quad lascannons are better than laser destroyers in every way. It's an example of FW/GW having no clue how the game works.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Flare shield and armoured ceramite are pretty much industry standard for an asault tank - making you immune to s8 and s9 blasts from the front, and largely immune to meta weapons.

Quad lascannons all the way the extra shots are just better than the ap change.

Ceramite and flare shields are basically mandatory as the tanks expensive it carries something expensive and realistically without these upgrades it's going to die turn 1 with them you might deploy your troops.

I'd also strongly recommend dozer blade and auxiliary drive. Dozer blades prevent you from rolling that gakky 1 and losing the game on a single roll because your unit got stuck or you couldn't move to make a key tankshock or firing arc. Immobilized tends to male vehicles as good as dead but for a tiny points cost you gain a 50/50 chance to keep in going which is again super good.

So realistically I'd say you are looking at 385 or so points
Quad lascannons, ceramite, flare shields, Auxiliary drive, dozer blade

If you have extra points in the list you could maybe add a pintle multi melta or something but I'd generally stop adding upgrades here as it is quite expensive.

Yeah flare sheild for sure, played against it was not fun watching my predator tanks made impotent against the front arc.
