Hello duders and dudettes,

Now as a foreword:

Yes, I do understand that there is no indication of future triumvirates.

Yes, I do understand that they were possibly/probably just a Gathering Storms special.

With that out of the way, who would you want to see?

For Chaos:

I have put a fair bit of thought in to this, and have come up with the following;

Soul Hunter series spoiler:
Spoiler:

Decimus - Prophet of the 8th

In the Soul Hunter trilogy, we saw the prophet of the 8th legion rise up and reunite the 8th Legion (Night Lords). He was prophesized to rise with the Fall of Cadia.

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Decimus_(Character)

Dhar'Leth - Demon Prince

Has pledged himself to Abaddon, and serves the Black Legion as an ally.

Huron Blackheart -

I originally didn't like this idea, due to preferring him as a pirate (I think I said as such in a different thread a few days ago), with the new map of the galaxy connecting the Eye and the Maelstrom somewhat, it would make sense for this big alliance to form.

This also would have model sizes in line with the other Triumvirates somewhat. Tell me what you would like to see for a triumvirate, and tell me if I nailed the Chaos one!

Creed - Lots of orders, not really a combat dude

Yarrick - Melee combat dude, tough to kill, helps with leadership

Some Scion dude - Shooty character and provider of buffs that Yarrick and Creed don't, maybe reserve manipulation?

I would observe that Ghazzie desperately needs a new model, and that a box with him at the same size as Guilliman, along with a backing singer pair of a Weirdboy and a Big Mek, would probably do a nice job of filling some holes in the current model lineup.

BA, Dante, Mephiston and Astorath. This gets rid of the old models and still leaves Sanguinor to be an avatar of Sanguinius which I'll bet will look like a celestant prime 40kified.

I'm still sure though that it'll be the finecast replacements first.

There is Colonel-Commissar Gaunt, who if the wiki is to be believed is rather inspiring.

Triumvirate of the Tau:

Commander Farsight, in his new & improved XV-95 Beatstick suit that is the size of a Primarch and, through cutting-edge technology and his cutting edge (heh), can at least contend against one for a while.

Master Shaper Penn'ame, an influential Shaper and the highest-"ranked" of the Kroot involved in the 4th Sphere of expansion. Probably gives boosts to Kroot in your army.

Ethereal Supreme Aun'isthelonelinestnumber, the replacement of the late Aun'va, an even more fervently expansion-oriented leader than her predecessor and instructor. Game-wise, she'd provide Morale boosts, relentlessness, that sorta stuff.

I would say not do one for Tyranids..

Tyranid Characters weaken the Tyranid storyline

The triumvirates were cool, but i'd rather see a lot of armies updated to plastic with new models for existing units.

And maybe rather than a triumvirate, a box that has opposing factions and a narrative there. Like Tyranids vs Tau, or Necrons vs Orks.

They wouldn't need to invent new units, and best of all the game could stay balanced for a while.

Yes, this is pretty easy and perfect.

I think a Ghazzy update by itself would work as well though, which would then allow a different warboss to get a release.

Like to see some of the other characters that are mentioned but no models:

I'd love to see an ork one bringing back wazzdakka so a biker named big mek,

Ghaz - largest warboss made size of a primarch, fluffwise he should at this point be at least that large

mad dok - also a new model, like ghaz its an old scuipt and out dated, make him more dynamic as well

wazzdakka - big mek biker, gw has never made him a model but that would be sweet, otherwise come up with a new named big mek. would love to see a custom bike model for orks though, heck people would probably buy him and a warboss kit to kitbash a warboss on a biek too double sales for GW

alternativelty bring back old zoggy but he was always the gretchin of the pack when it came to mattering to the storyline.

I would definitely be cool with a Tau Triumverate that featured Shafowsun and Farsight, but they'd be way too much plastic between just the two of them to justify it. The current Tau commander suit is larger than guilliman or cawl, a ghostkeel is right out.

But yes. Tau Triumverate:

Farsight - requisite big guy, crisis commander that fights like a monstrous creature.
Shadowsun - make her a new xv-22 kit or some other new stealth suit. No need for her to go full ghostkeel, I'd rather her be able to confer her cool bonuses to a squad, its more useful and more suited to her character.
Aun'Va - a new one. Young and dynamic. Tau naming conventions are such that Aun'Va is literally the only short name an ethereal caste leader could have, anyway. Big twist: he's a clone of the precious Aun'Va.

I second the Ork Triumvirate but instead of Wazzdakka maybe have Orkimedes. That would be awesome! But really a named Big Mek would work out well.

The current Tau Commander Suit, heightwise, is taller than Guilliman or Cawl.
The two Imperials are bigger though. Ghostkeels aren't as big as you might think they are either.

We don't know yet if characters can still join squads.

And really, they made a huuuuuuuge deal about her taking a Ghostkeel during Damocles. It's happening.

Aun'Va - a new one. Young and dynamic. Tau naming conventions are such that Aun'Va is literally the only short name an ethereal caste leader could have, anyway. Big twist: he's a clone of the precious Aun'Va.

God I hope not. Aun'va being ganked was the only good thing for the Imperium to get out of the crapfest that was the fluff for Damocles. It's bad enough that they have him being "replaced" by a hologram--them pulling an Emperor Reborn would be pure crap.

Surely the Ork Triumvirate should be Ghazgkull, Mad Dok Grotsnik and Makari? Although it should be titled "Da Gang of Three".

Mind you, a Wierdboy being escorted by a pair of minderz, in full Rogue Trader fashion, would be good.

For Chaos? Abaddon, with Fabius Bile and a pair of his ... creations, and Huron Blackheart. Finally with a model that isn't awful. Alterntively, Abaddon, a daemon lord and a twisted demagogue chaos sorcerer - to reflect the three branches of Chaos. Get the Enemies Without, Beyond and Within* all in one boxset.

(Yes, I know that really refers to xenos, chaos and heretics, but it works here too)

Slaanesh Chaos Triumvirate

Doom Rider
- Rhino-sized CSM-Bike
- Doom Rider with the same size as a Daemon Prince
- Model suspended in air and riding flames
- Base decoration: grox roadkill on highway & bullet-riddled traffic sign reading: "Route 666"

Fabius Bile
- just a minor scale creep for Fabius
- comes along with two Bodyguards (enhanced CSM) on a large monster base
- pose:
Bodyguards manhandling a poor cadian guardsman and Fabius injecting some foul liquid into his neck
- Bodyguards are bigger & more badass than Roboute“s Nu-Marines

New Diaz Daemonettes "Noise Cats"
- six Daemonettes wearing rockstar outfits on a stage with the following poses:
1. playing guitar
2. playing bass-guitar
3. drumming
4. screaming into microphone
5. & 6. dancing & tumbling
- stage itself is suspended in air (this is apparently a thing right now) and floats on smoke
- also useable in AoS with this special rule: "Smoke on the water"
If the song "Smoke on the water" is played in a loop for the whole game, all your Slaanesh units gain +1 Bravery and all opposing units half their Bravery (round fractions up). The music may be stopped by either player but then he/she also loses the game.
