Just to clarify - arranging Rhino's w/ Plasma Cannon occupants, can block line of sight for each other in a way to pick off particular models - multiple hits landing on just one dude?
That is kinda raw

Blasts can wound models out of LoS so you can't do this with a blast weapon

Maybe you could elaborate?

If you are talking about firing from a rhino firepoints, you would use the blast rules.
So you would put the template over a model in your line of sight at the unit you are firing at.
Measure from the firing point, assume the hull of the transport is clear, IE flamer.
As long as you can measure each from their firepoints I don't see why there would be blocking.
And models in a unit cannot block LOS from themselves.

Blasts can allocate wounds to models out of line of sight of the firer but those wounds get re-allocated to the nearest visible model in the target unit (or are tossed out if there are no visible models) due to the Out of Sight rule.

Out of Sight
Spoiler:
If none of the firing models can draw a line of sight to a particular model in the target unit, then Wounds cannot be allocated to it, and must instead be allocated to the nearest visible model in the target unit. If there are no visible models in the target unit, all remaining Wounds in the pool are lost.

Barrage can get around this since it draws line of sight from the center of the blast rather than from the firer.

Spoiler:
To determine whether a unit wounded by a Barrage weapon is allowed a cover save, and when determining Wound allocation, always assume the shot is coming from the centre of the blast marker, instead of from the firing model.

But since we are dealing with Blasts then Out of Sight rule applies.

So to answer the question for the OP you could indeed use a rhino in front of a firing unit to dictate what is and is not Out of Sight.

Try reading the full Blast rules in the Special rules section of the rulebook.

The Last sentence of the full Blast rules, main section of the rules: "Remember that any Wounds inflicted by weapons with the Blast special rule must be allocated to the closest model in the target unit even if it is out of sight of any models from the attacking unit."

I know GW's proclivity for shotgunning rules all over the book makes it difficult to keep them all straight. Especially when the rules have different parts of the rule all through the book without a single comprehensive location.

OP: While any direct-fire weapon will allow what you are asking; any Blast weapon will actually counter this tactic by not only not forcing all the wounds on the 1 visible model, but that 1 model may be farther away than other models and never take a wound from your blast weapons(although using the 1 visible model positioning will allow you to take out most of the squad with blasts and then target that 1 visible with direct-fire).

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Lucky for us it will soon be moot in a month, no?

Is there a permanent stickied thread for Chaos players to complain every time someone/anyone gets models or rules besides them? If not, there should be.
