I am looking to paint up a Deathwing Contemptor and would like to make it a bit more "Dark Angles" by giving it a sword. the only large imperial looking sword I can find, however, is the one on the Dreadknight, which is sold out everywhere I look (I found one on Ebay but the shipping to Japan was exorbitant). Is there another bit from another model that might work for this?

The only swords that come to mind are the ones sometimes wielded by DP's but that probably wouldn't look too good with a loyal army.
But how about sculpting/shaping your own from plasticard or something similar? Being Japan you should have plenty access to suppliers, at least in the major cities.
Just my suggestion.

Could try the sword off the Dreadknight.. it'd be sizeable enough to be similar..

He's tried that - they're sold out (as bits) whereever he tried.
Use a gundam energy sword? There should be plenty of those around - as Gundam isn't so much a cartoon or modelling thing in Japan, but a way of life. They have weapons kit add-ons for the popular ranges.

DreadKnight would be the easiest
it might be easier to glue 2/3 pcs of plasticard and file/fill the edge to make a sword.
use the venerable dread power hand thing to have it hold the sword or make it a mechanical one like the librarians stabby staff.

Ah yes, that may work. Where I buy my non- GW has basically a whole floor of gundam models...
