I'm not sure if anyone can answer this, but I heard there are GW Dev Diaries that mention WIP rules, so I thought it was worth a shot.
I scratch-built a Big Mek for my Orks army; He's on a warbike with a kustom-mega-slugga and killsaw, and I was wondering if this loadout will still be legal in 8th edition?
This guy is certainly my pet project, But i still put some effort into his bike, so It'd be a shame to have to dismantle him or even start over.

A lack of unit customization will kill this edition imo.
So, I REALLY hope that your model will be viable, as I have the same worries about some of my own.
A return of the old vehicle construction rules (within reason) would be great, also.

My big mek has a burna, and the new ork codex invalidated that. I'd say it can only go up from here, but those GW rascals are a bunch of wildcards.

If there doesn't currently exist a model for it, then there's a bit of a chance (not small, but not big either, like maybe 30%) that it might not make it into the new edition. GW's recent trend is to only make rules for existing models, with only a few legacy exceptions (usually very popular builds, like the juggerlord).
However biker Orkz are fairly popular, so there's a good argument for them to keep it as an option and make a model for the new edition instead.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do. |

I have no idea what they'll do. I would guess that, like MechaEmperor7000 said, they won't totally get rid of Big Meks on bikes. They are streamlining things, so you might not be able to have the exact loadout you have now, but I would guess most people would be fine with "counts as slugga and power klaw" assuming those are still allowed. As far as my personal preferences go, I like things to either be really detailed with wargear options and WYSIWYG*, or pretty simple with less WYSIWYG and more freedom to model. I just hope they don't go to some weird mushy middle. *Theoretically WYSIWYG, but actually I'm pretty laid back as long as it is easy to keep track of what is what.

Alex0911 Is probably right; I should wait to do anything until I get my hands on the real rules. But yeah, I agree with you all as a scratchbuilder/heavy customizer. Low modeling freedom would stink. I'm just anxious about my lack of knowledge I suppose, so sorry if I asked an impossible question but thanks for the awesome responses!

They did say all models will be usable, though they didn't mention load outs.
Worse comes to worse, you may need to change out a weapon or two, or just counts as.
