1. All infantry and jump infantry are always considered as being in cover.
2. You may use the jump pack both in the movement and the assault phases.
I am curious what Jump Packs will even do. My guess is they will just be a flat increase to movement speed. Possibly in every phase. So a 3" increase in the Movement, Shooting(so an increase to Advance moves) and Charge phases.
We don't know the full rules yet, but it is possible that they could not change at all. The current jump pack rules are basically compatible with 8th ed as we know it. Double M in the movement phase, reroll charge range in the assault phase. Of course, giving jump pack units a flat guaranteed charge range would actually be a reason to use the 20 assault marines and 10 raptors I have collecting dust, so I won't complain if the rules do change.
I've long thought that if
40k chapter tactics took some inspiration from 30k legions, it couldn't be bad, really. Maybe Ultramarines Chapter Tactics granting rerolls on hits to specific targets according to their class, so tactical squads get rerolls on other infantry,
devs get rerolls on vehicles and monsters, Assault Marines get rerolls on melee hits, etc. But of course, just porting 30k UM tactics would be super cool.
Iron Hands getting +1T when hit by anything below a certain
STR?
I'm curious what the new version of
ATSKNF is going to be. Maybe they don't suffer additional wounds in the battleshock phase?
