Is it just me, or since Cadia fell, has GW been focusing a lot on Armeggedon?

Will Armeggedon become the new posterboys of the IG?

Will we get plastic Steel Legion(by the Emperor, PLEASE)?

Will they continue the plastic Cadians?

His war machines will crush you under their treads. His mighty guns will bring the very sky crashing down upon you. You cannot win. The Emperor has given us His greatest weapon to wield. So make yourselves ready. We are the First Kronus Regiment, and today is our Victory Day. " - Governor-Militant Lukas Alexander, Commander 1st Kronus Regiment

Because it's the first Warzone mentioned, there's six that's going to be mentioned overall.

Also Gotta scramble a few Armeggedons to show Chaos doing things

Armageddon also received a campaign codex a long time ago, before the "Eye of Terror" Cadia campaign actually, so it's only logical they'd revisit that one.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Armeggedon has always been the number two war zone for the IG so that is not surprising.

Unlikely however they could do something similiar with what they did with the various space marines and have a central faction of IG with small subfactions for various other regiments ala space marines and the blood angels/space wolves/dark angels.

Seconded.

Yes, see above.

I doubt it very much.

Cadia was a fortress world, Armageddon is a hive world IIRC

If it means plastic steel legion to go with my already 100+ metal ones Im happy with that! But I can see a mixed chaos, ork, and imperial warzone really being interesting in terms of story and dynamics, with Orks throwing wrenches in both sides plans at all times "hey! we was 'ere first, dis loot is ours!"

'Straya... Mate.

I believe there are going to be a bunch of hot spot conflicts around the galaxy, to provide us a stage for battles if we so wish.

Well, unfortunately, Cadia Prime is the 40k equivalent of Alderaan at this point
A whole heap of space rocks whizzing around, doing nothing helpful...

But Cadia as a system?

Didn't see that, so is it now Holy Cadia?

IIRC there was an image posted on dakka of armageddon with something about a dameonic incursion, and a hint that khorne wasn't finished with it.

Cant wait!

I'd like to see something equal in scale to what we saw in 3rd edition. The Armageddon conflict was MASSIVE and went on for months. It introduced tons of new models, new rules, new art/lore & really brought the orks center stage. I'm really hoping we don't see a repeat of what we saw on Cadia in the Gathering Storms. It felt like the events that took place on Cadia were over before the playerbase could really even interact with what was going on. What should have been Cadian's finest moment, barely received mention in the books. Each & every time Cadians did something it was immediately one upped by space marines. The loss of Kell/Creed was largely overshadowed by the emotions of demi-gods.

I'm really hoping the 4th war of Armageddon is an ongoing conflict where the war never really ends between Chaos/Orks/IoM.

Would I like to see Plastic Steel Legion? Absolutely. Is GW done producing Cadians? Unlikely. Although there is likely enough of them in circulation that even if they did stop producing them today, between what they have left over/Ebay & FLGS we would probably never run into a shortage of them.

I think it's becoming clearer that the various war zones mentioned by GW will be stages on which to set your own play. Similar in a way to the mortal realms in AOS. I think it will help the 'Narrative' section of 8th, having defined war zones which can be explored and campaigns launched.

As for Armageddon being the new IG 'Poster boy', I don't think so, although, what I wouldn't give for a bunch of new plastic guard regiments.

The first rule of unarmed combat is: don’t be unarmed.

I don't know about that, but Armageddon is one of the Warzones mentioned...

I think it is worth mentioning that all of the warzones(Baal, Cadia, Armageddon, Damocles, and even Ultramar) had Cadian Shock Regiments active.
Damocles and Armageddon both, as well, have neighboring worlds that have been settled by Cadian regiments in the past.

We already know what's going on. There's a Khorne Daemon Incursion known as the Blood Crusade starting with Armageddon.
