Ok so one of my ongoing projects I have is a mechanized freebooter army (basically speed freaks with pirate hats) where all vehicles are amphibious - so the entire force can arrive by sea and head onto land without having to stop.
The bikes all have a foil beneath the main body that reaches around behind the wheel to look like it would allow hydroplaning - see guy martins aquabike video to see what I mean
Battlewagons will have the bottom half removed (so just the cab and rear compartment left), plonked onto a boat hull and had the wheels and tracks reattached to the boat body
Ork walkers will be made to look like mechanical crabs etc.
Obligatory pirate stompa
Only problem is, I can't think of anything to do for a trukk that doesn't require tonnes of work, or result in the trukk being wayyy too big (I had a 3d printed WW2 landing craft and added a bunch of ork trukk bits but it's far to long to have 6 of them zipping around the board! I just called it a big trakk and went back to the drawing board for the trukks).

The only ideas I've had so far are to make the trukk into a hovercraft, or use plasticard to make the front more boat-shaped, but they both sound like a lot of work (I need a lot of trukks).

Any creative mek out there able to give me a helping hand? Would really appreciate it! at a bit of a standstill until I can sort this out

An Ork would probably just add a scuba and drive at the bottom of the sea.

Mek would fill a string of metal barrels with a bad fart and attach them to the sides of the trukk just under the boarding planks... and shift to the loudest available gear.

Something goofy, like attaching twin floats you'd see on water-based planes.

You could pick up an engine from somewhere like Zinge Industries and stick an outboard motor on the back.

Floating devices such as barrels (or maybe squig-hide ballons) would be a nice start, and then you just need to add a way for it to propel itself: oars, a sail, outboard motor...

Yeah, I'd say barrels added along the length of the vehicle...or failing that, a real Orky solution would be to add tracks or wheels to an actual boat...and go that direction. Needless to say rows of gobline rowers would be necessary too...

What ever you do, I would go with a Pirate theme.

Will do already got a bunch of pirate themed boyz, just need the transports now.

I was thinking of going the boat route but I'm struggling to find an appropriate sized boat that isn't obviously for 3 year olds Whatever I end up going with there will be flags a'flying everywhere!

I’d go with either barrels/pontoons/floaties or one of those flat bottomed hover things they use in swamps, with the giant fan on the back.

You mean airboats. They're not hovercraft, they're just (in essence) smallish flat-bottom boats with aircraft engines and propellers.

Yup. Open topped, plenty of space for boyz to pile on and shoot everywhere. Makes a mind-boggling racket, and moves like stink.

That’s a mek creation right there.
