So here we go! I finally got my order submitted to add to my XV legion list, and I'm excited to soon own 5 Castellax-Achea models. So here is where I turn to the collective force of Dakka for some help.

I'm away from my normal hobby area, and will be for an extended period of time. I can for sure work with what I brought with me, but some things are going to be a bit more difficult than normal. Since I'm running XV legion, I really want to continue the metallic red scheme I started. Now, back home I prime black, then base coat with Tamiya Metallic Red in order to achieve the color I like. This then gets recess shaded with Nuln Oil for definition and a bright silver edge highlight.

Sadly, I can't get a lot of that. I'm limited to the paints I have for the moment, and am really hoping I can make this work. My thought is (with what I have):
Prime - Flat black. General store here has black spray paint.
Base - brush paint Vallejo silver. Patience and thinning is the key.
Wash - Coats of thinned red valljeo wash. Probably definitely more than three.
Shade - Vallejo black wash.
Highlight - bright silver edge.

So Dakka, any thoughts?

Imho its not going to look the same as your already done models.
i think the best you can do right now is clean the models prime them at the least.

then knock them all out at the same time once you get back to your normal hobby area.

its better than not liking how things end up then stripping and doing it all over again (i know iv been there :()
