I'm trying to put together a Grand Alliance Chaos army (using units from many different armies), so I'm not looking to make a Slaanesh-only army. That said, I don't want to spend the extra money on some of the great conversions I've seen. Can a decent Slaanesh Daemon Prince be made using only the Daemon Prince kit?

Thanks in advance

Well, if you paint it purple/pink and say "this is a Slaanesh Daemon Prince," you'll never have anyone say otherwise.

If you wanted to convert something real tits-and-cocaine like though, its aptitude for conversion would depend entirely on exactly what you'd want to make.

If you're doing slannesh make sure it's as lurid and gaudy as possible, to the point it's annoying.

The Daemon Prince kit doesn't have parts specific to any one god (unless you're the sort of person who interprets 'axe' as 'Khorne only'), and doesn't have many options in any case. Beyond extensive greenstuffing I don't know that you'll get much out of that kit to differentiate your Slaaneshi model.

For a short/relatively cheap conversion you could try getting the tail/base construction off the Dark Elf Black Dragon ($10 on Ebay for the whole body) and stick the Daemon Prince's torso on top of it, haven't checked the relative scale of the models so I'm not sure how well it'd work but you'd have the weird naga/marillith effect going that way.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

The only conversion I've seen while looking for a Slaanesh Daemon Prince is one using the Tyranid Mawloc tail. It works well scale-wise, but the tail is $20 on eBay and the kit is close to $60. It's tough for me to justify that.

I think it all depends largely on the paint-scheme. I would, however, advise using the head with the two straight horns (like those of a gazelle) and the bare chest, as this seems most slaaneshi. Perhaps also combine this with the fabric loincloth, paint it a fleshy colour and then wash with carroburg crimson to make it look like flayed flesh (or alternatively do it up in lurid colours).

But right now, I'm gonna have to go with wrath.

Look for the head of the Ynnead avatar of 40k. I think it can fit it.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

For my slaaneshi demon prince i made a large tail out of wire and green stuffed over it. Then added scales and the wings from the island of blood griffon. Will post some picks when i get home from work.

looking good! though the wings should be a darker color to contrast the body.

And maybe make the scales either glossy or glittery? I would think the scales would be sparkling somehow...

Otherwise I like the progression!

If you can find it on a bitz seller, the Bloodwrack Medusa makes for a great "Daemon Princess" of Slaanesh. Get some leathery wings (which should all run less than the cost of a DP) and you should be giggity.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

You know what? I bet the head of a Slaanesh Fiend would fit nicely. From a bits seller it would probably run you only a couple of bucks too.
