Morning!

I'm wondering which basing materials/basing kits that are pretty much "the best on the market" at the moment? I've been looking through The Army Painters range and Secret Weapons scenery kits, although I remember seeing something with even more edge (which I can't remember where).

What do you recommend? Preferably grassy/forest/plains/mountain themed.

Also, is there any 3rd party chimera tracks still out there? Something equal to this - http://www.warchimera.com/en_US/p/Tracking-guards-for-transport-vehicle/16

Many thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what you mean by basing materials...they're all pretty much identical except for price. I use Army Painter grass tufts because they're very reasonably priced and work well. For basing materials I just use bulk ballast bags from woodland scenics (mix a few sizes into a plastic tub). Are you looking for resin bases...or the materials to put on them?

Flock is pretty much flock, and static grass isn't really different (but can be applied in different ways).

It will depend on:
How much you want to spend on them (lots of infantry to base),
What you want it to look like.
I just use gravel and rocks, as a semi-urban force.

Otherwise, I use bases from here:

Once you get going though, the price soon adds up.

I use Army Painter static grass, some fine gravel and cork tiles for my mountain themed bases.

I use Army Painter tufts/flowers, rocks from the side of the road, and Woodland Scenics’ flock.
