Hello. I am somewhat new to Warhammer 40K I've been playing/ building since Oct 2016. A lot in my play group play Eldar Wraithlord/ jetbikes, or Tau Riptides and Stormsurges. I play Blood Angels. We all play 1850 lists. I'm looking to build something I can somewhat be competitive with. But I'm still learning weapons and stuff like that. So what should I invest in to get up to speed?

With the new edition poised to drop in the next few days, it's become impossible to say for sure. However, if you consider that you are likely to spend 95% of your participation in this hobby on building and painting, I tend to recommend that you buy whatever gives you the most joy to own and not worry too much about how it performs on the table.
If competitiveness is more important to you, though, I recommend following the international tournament scene, as that's where you'll get the really dense analysis of army building.

If you are still playing 7th after 8th drops, there are a lot of tactics and list threads in the 40k section.
Otherwise, wait for the new rules to appear, and join the scrum to work out what the new flavour of the edition will be.

With BA, you don't stand a chance against your cheesemongering group while they're spamming Wraithlords and Riptides in 7th. Wait until 8th drops and see if they cry when they don't auto-win with their current lists any more.

Well so far I run the lost brotherhood strike force with the DC strike force as the core and Archangel Orbital intervention as aux. With a predator. But I'm assembling my tact squads with dual gunslinger flamer sgts with regular flamers and heavy. And I have a few devastators. A las, plas, and middle. I also have 2 Baal preds one Flamestormed out the other assault cannon. 2 fragiosos I librarian dread and two DC dreads (one is Cassor.). I have 3 pods as well. I just don't want SM spam. I want to run them like Blood angels . I've seen a lot of silly deathstars but I picked these guys to play like them because I like their fluff. Just need a little help on where to go from there. I have all hqs except Tycho, commander, and sanguinor, just unassembled right now Automatically Appended Next Post: But I appreciate the tips will look into it. I'm waiting for 8th two. But it seems you'll still need some heavy guns to take stuff down
