This Is Where the Fish Lives

A friend of mine introduced me to TANKS skirmish game over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. It's easy to learn, fast to play, and best of all it's cheap. I picked up a few Soviet expansions and set to work getting them built and painted. I started off with the ISU-152 because I have a soft spot for assault guns. This model was painted with Tamiya paints and weathered with Mig enamels and pigments.

Looks very, very solid and neat. Have you thought about colour modulation?

Thanks mate.

I'm not a fan of color modulation because I think it looks unrealistic. What I did on this little guy was add paint fading by priming and black and using white to make a cloudy inconsistent area where I wanted the paint faded, like on top of the barrel, engine deck, and the top and sides of the casemate. It's a little more noticeable if you zoom in on the picture in my gallery.

Whatever suits you better . I prefer modulation, because - in my opinion - it looks better on - usually - poorly lit gaming tables, but I agree, it looks slighty unrealistic.
