Just ordered some GK Strike Squads but I want them on 32mm bases.

Can get 50 MDF bases in eBay for 8.99 shipping included. Anyone have amy experience with these? I feel like they would ne heavier which could be beneficial.

Should i just fork over the extra couple bucks for plastics?

I have used them and they can be a pain. There are made of wood and they can be very porous. I have laid down layers of wood glue just to have something for the glue to stick too. Works better on custom bases if you build them up.

You can get Chinese plastic ones on Ebay too. 100 For 14 bucks the last time I saw them. All 32mm.

It also depends on your table / terrain surfaces.
Hollow bases work much much better on heavily textured areas.

Also, there is a large difference between MDF and Wood...and they are often mis-labeled/advertised. Wood is far more likely to soak up paint, have a rougher texture, and more prone to warping.

If they're MDF, they're very light.
They take paint well.
I've used bicarb snow on them with no problems.
Plastic and wood won't stick well unless pinned-personal experience.
They work fine if you can get around the glue issue.

Hope that helps.
