So I mainly play with a good mate of mine, who I am now on a four loss streak with. My force was originally just greenwing with a squad of deathwing but now is half greenwing, half deathwing as we play 2500 point games. In the last game, I added belial, a DW command squad, two identical DW squads (Assault Cannon, Cyclone Missles) and a squad of DW Knights, and got butt fethed by him adding Abaddon.

I'm getting a bit bored of DA now since although they seem to be quite an anti Chaos chapter I'm still getting f'd in the a, and would quite like to add a small allied detatchment. I was thinking grey knights (for extra termies and anti psyker stuff), skitarii (for extra firepower) or the talons of the emperor set for pure overkill. What would you guys recommend?

Your ignoring the best part of the Dark Angel codex and that's the Ravenwing. Command squads and Black Knights will drown chaos in plasma. I think allies are premature until you've explored the whole codex

Thanks dude, if I'm honest I've never been a fan of bike based armies but I'll give it a shot. Should I start with black knights then? What about the nephilim or landspeeder variants?

You're looking at 660 points for this and while I find it to be a little bare (I play mainly Ravenwing) it's a good starting point to see the virtues of the second company. Here's an example of an army I played the other day to great effect (pardon my short hand)
