Gunmen in Egypt Attack Bus Carrying Coptic Christians

At least 20 people are reported dead in the assault in the southern city of Minya

CAIRO—Unknown gunmen opened fire Friday on a bus carrying Coptic Christians to a monastery in the southern Egypt, local media reports said, killing at least 20 people, in the latest attack on the minority Christian community.

The bus was headed to the monastery in the city of Minya, some 190 miles south of the capital Cairo, Al Ahram newspaper quoted unnamed security officials as saying.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which follows suicide bombings at two Coptic churches on Palm Sunday in which at least 45 worshipers were killed.

The extremist group Islamic State, which vowed last year to step up attacks on Coptic Christians, said it carried out those bombings.

Vigo. Spain.

Minorities always have a bad time when they live in a country with a mayority that goes against them.

Sadly this is nothing new in the middle east.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

That's sadly normal for the country. Attacks are a regular event against them.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

The Muslim Brotherhood was only banned recently, and all the people who voted for them still support their beliefs, the violence against Christians is serious. A friend of mine is taking a risk going home to Cairo every summer, we were particularly concerned when he was there during the 2012 protests.
