The new starter box for 8ed is around the corner and I cant wait , but before we get to see all the cool new modells lets have a lock back to 2008 and and the starterbox assault on black reach ..with is in my opinion the best starter box GW have done ..to date !

Yes I know the quality of the new minis from say dark vengeance or age of sigmar are superior but I dont think they hold upp to the level of pure joy this old Aobr have when it came out.

The hype of getting a dreadnought in a starter box for one thing and the price point ! ore the uniq ork warboss everything was more than I could wish for in this box.

I had the marines laying around in my storage unit for years and when I saw them laying there one day I felt quite sad and depressed to se them destroys chip broken and forgotten , the marines that gave me so much joy back in 2008 , so I thought THAT'S IT! No this is not a worthy end of to the proud space marines I will repair repaint and make the new and shiny again and put them in my display cabinet !

So i began the work and now its finished and I'm happy shear my marines with you( sadly I dont have the orcs ) and look back and remember this grate starter box



The Capitan





Wow this modell was so cool and dynamic , the clock looks so natural and the cool pose made him really look like a nobel hetero and fun to see the current space marine capita is modelled after this one


The Taqtical Marines



10 taq marines is a most have for any marine player and her we got them .. not only did they look cool they actually were individual (well sort of) new helmets on some , and a bolter stip damn that looks badass , nice taq arrows and NO chapter symbols so anyone kan have them



The terminators



Yes ..5 Terminators this was so cool , and the modells may have been snap fit but it was done in a excellent way so you could swap weapons on them to , the sergat was really nice looking to and I actually think this guys still hold up to the current terminator models



The Dreadnaught



Damn ! this was the seling pont for many people i guess a whole dreadnaught !! I was so exited , shur it was a bit smaller and mono-pose but you could change weapons to and it came with a multi melta (witch we still dont have a plastic one for)

Lovely work dude.AoBR was the starter box my brother and I split when we got back into the hobby.

I for one am hoping the old MM dread might see some action in the new edition!

These all look amazing, great work! The extra color of reflection on the power sword really kicks it up a notch, many small details like this to enjoy in this set of models.

Nice work. I still have an almost complete AOBR starter box back home. The only thing I've used so far was the Dreadnought, which I turned into a rifleman with the quad autocannons from an Aegis line.

From memory it was about the easiest conversion ever. I just had to enlarge 2 holes in the Dread body a tiny bit, then the cannons were a snug fit.

Yeah ; i'm happy I took the time to paint it it , it's actually not that hard when you get started , the models are rather simple compared to the newer kits
