Hi,
in this new edition Battle Focus special rule says: " this unit can shoot in the shooting phase as if it hasn't moved or advanced (with the exception of heavy weapons)
This means:

A: this unit can shoot with rapid fire, assault or pistols without any modifier if is making an advance. But has a -1 for shooting with a heavy weapon while moving and cannot shoot with a heavy weapons while advancing

OR

B: this unit can shoot with rapid fire, assault, pistols, heavy weapons without any modifier if is moving. If is advancing can shoot with rapid fire, assault, pistols without any modifier, but can not shoot with a heavy weapon?

What do you think?

Edit: my doubt come from the sentence between brackets without a comma and in my opinion related just to "advanced". For case A I should have written: " with the exception of heavy weapons, this unit can shoot in the shooting phase as if it hasn't moved or advanced"

EDIT 2: for those who already have the rule I'm still more convinced myself (If is wrong I'm sorry, I'm not English) that the option B is correct because only heavy weapons have modifiers for moving.

Looks like option A to me. Assuming the rule text is accurate Heavy weapons would be exempt from the effects of Battle Focus and gain no advantage from it.

Agreed, looks like Option A. The exception of heavy weapons, being in brackets after everything else in that sentence, would suggest that the exception applies to the entire previous sentence. An FAQ on it would be nice, since it's technically possible that it only applies to the "or advanced" portion, but in that case it would probably have the following statement in brackets after "hasn't moved"; (including heavy weapons).

I initially read it at option a, buut if that is true I've been looking at all my weapon choices now as shurikin cannons are looking better being assault now. Scatter lasers on war walkers was my go to but why hit on a 4+(Without advancing) when I can advance and shoot with the cannons and still hit on 3+. Same with guardians, the weapon platform can only really retain the mobility with the shurikin cannon. Most of our units with battle focus carry assault weapons anyways.

The vehicles are seeming to be back to hitting on 4+ while moving for most things, I had hoped the falcon chassis was going to retain its ability to fire its weapons on 3+ while moving but overall I'm still happy with the dex.
