I didn't read the 500 or however many page thread, so I am just going to ask here.

I'm kind of into painting again, and I'm queuing up my next thing. I'm kind of feeling like painting some Space Marine Scout-Snipers. I know they used to kind of suck - are they good now? I don't really know anything about how sniper rifles are going to work in 8th.

They seem ok, and some people are crying they are the end of characters. They're not, but they can possibly in some situations manage to take out an important character.

That said, no one has tested it in practice. They should be viable at the very least.

Snipers have Strenght 4, can target Characters hiding behind other units and do an additional mortal wound an a 6+ wound roll. So, yeah, I think they have a place now.

That's relatively good, then? I get what a mortal wound is - unsavable, right?

Awww yeah. I'm gonna paint up my Land Speeder Whatever The Scout One Is, too.

I think they're almost an auto take personally. Maybe 2 squads.

As every Sniper, they aren't gonna kill the Warlord of your enemy. But they are totally capable of killing those buffing smaller heroes like APhotecaries, Comissars, Mekboyz, etc...

So they are very useful.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

My wife plays Necrons and I will be fielding them every game to murder her RP buffing characters, without remorse. !@#$

Not world-beaters, but should be useful. I'm gonna stick with my Vindicare for character assassinations in the meantime.

I saw with eyes then young, and this is my testament.
