After reading about the Taurox Prime, and seeing what an (albeit, short (24")) range dakka beast it could be, I wanted to include a few in an army - here's what I came up with.

What kept going through my head as I saw this list was a Space Marine list, filled to the brim with Devastator (Lascannon x4) transported by Razorback (Twin Assault Cannon) spam; that, and the fact that I just watched the 2000 Point Battlereport that was recently put out (where Devastators dropped near a heavy unit and almost obliterated it) meant that I tried to include some anti vehicle [Missile Launchers], and troops that could severely hamper a Devastator squad when they popped up [Tempestus Scions].
I feel that the list appears relatively well balanced regarding anti-infantry and anti-armor, with some ability to swarm the board - but if I run into an army that focuses too much on one aspect of the three (especially high wound, high armor save elites), I may not have enough firepower.

I'm also VERY concerned about sniper units; if I lose my Company Commander or Commisar, everything seems as though it would fall apart real quick. Speaking of characters, I think I lack the ability to single them out and dispose of them with any reasonable force - perhaps I should include Ratlings? They're pretty cheap overall, and the ability for potentially double/mortal wounds seems fantastic. That said, they seem very dependent on if you get the first turn or not, but, maybe they're still useful.

Battalion Detachment
HQ 1: Company Commander - 30[/list]
HQ 2: Tempestor Prime (w/ Tempestus Command Rod) - 40
HQ 3: Tempestor Prime (w/ Tempestus Command Rod) - 40
Troops 1: Conscripts (42) - 126
Troops 2: Conscripts (42) - 126
Troops 3: Militarum Tempestus Scions (10) - 100
Troops 4: Militarum Tempestus Scions (10) - 100
Elite 1: Commissar - 30
Heavy Support 1: Heavy Weapons Team (w/ Missile Launcher) (3) - 72
Heavy Support 2: Heavy Weapons Team (w/ Missile Launcher) (3) - 72
Heavy Support 3: Heavy Weapons Team (w/ Missile Launcher) (3) - 72
Dedicated Transport 1: Taurox Prime (w/ Taurox Gatling Gun, Hot-shot volley gun (2)) - 96
Dedicated Transport 1: Taurox Prime (w/ Taurox Gatling Gun, Hot-shot volley gun (2)) - 96

At the end of putting the list together, I learned that "Militarum Tempestus" was not compatible with <Regiment> in general, only other Tempestus troops; so, I'm no longer sure about the HQ choices in this list (I was REALLY looking forward to triple drop command units, that could order all of my different units around; would have been very flexible).

It was a hard call to choose between Missile Launchers and Lascannons for the heavy weapons teams; perhaps as I encounter more vehicle stat lines, a choice will become more apparent - but for now, figured that the -1S -1Sv stats were worth giving up, for an additional ability to fight horde units.

Given the fact above, I'm heavily considering replacing one of the remaining Tempestor Prime's with another Company Commander, so it can hang with a Heavy Weapons Team (or two). This weakens my ability to split Tempestus Scions and threaten small elite squads, along with requiring me to group two of the Heavy Weapons Teams together - but perhaps it's worth it.
I know this was long for such a short list, but, thoughts?

Looks effective, but I would echo your above point: my sniper would be able to pick out the linchpin of your force and deprive the rest of this fearsome list it's most crucial buffs. Not sure how to get around that, but some snipers of your own could be a welcome addition! I like the vibe of the army though; have always loved infantry hordes of IG

I saw with eyes then young, and this is my testament.
