Would you be willing to play against an IG superheavy tank company (3-5 baneblades or baneblade-variant vehicles using the superheavy detachment) in 8th edition, now that we know their stats and rules?

Probably, considering there will be no situation where I end up being unable to harm the thing.

Although I am more likely to field one rather than face one. You're the guy who has an entire tank regiment right?

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

Yep, it's nice to have worthwhile things to shoot my Shadowsword's Volcano Cannon at.

Yes. I'm a bit curious about the Baneblade's inability to move and fire effectively, but the rest of it seems fine - durability is adequate, firepower (provided you don't move) is adequate, and speed (if you don't want to shoot) is adequate.

Even moving and shooting isn't crippling, per-say, but is bizarrely more difficult than with a LRBT.

I was mostly just finding out if people thought superheavies were more balanced in 8e.

Might be hard to win on objectives if you only have 3-5 models?

Baneblades are only 499 points and the rest of the IG got super cheap. I could probably field a 2k list with the 3 baneblades for that detachment plus a good, idk, 10 squads of guardsmen (for 100 guardsmen total) and a couple HQs for the second detachment.
