So 8th has hit it with all it entails, and for now has my previous lists, so time to take the opportunity to shape up a new one.
The new edition seems to have its pro' and con's, in the demo game I played earlier I missed the variety of units and tactics however it was a lost faster and less stop start which was enjoyable. While the new edition seems to limits how you can differentiate armies with rules, the new detachments and factions do offer greater freedom in list writing (apart from not being able to stick skitarii in transports

)
This has made it much easier to run a themed list I've fancied building for the bast 6 months or so so figured I'd share it. It's pretty much brettonians in space with a touch more steam punk and using Celestine as a Joan of Arc/ lady of the lake type character, and the major visual theme with be conversions using lances of different sizes for various
CC weapons.
Outrider detachment:
HQ: Celestine 150pt- Doesn't offer a huge amount of help to the list (though the 6++ for units doesn't hurt), main reason for her is that she can keep up with the rest of the army and would make a nice visual center piece.
Fast attack:
3 Scout sentinels, heavy flamer and sentinel chainsaw 135pts
3 Scout sentinels, heavy flamer and sentinel chainsaw 135pts
3 Scout sentinels, heavy flamer and sentinel chainsaw 135pts- Will represent squires aspiring to become knights. Was originally going for armored sentinels with lascanons for a little more durability and much needed anti tank, but the high cost and negative modifiers for moving discouraged me, the heavy flamer auto-hits negating that disadvantage and the scout move should help with the limited range. The
CC weapons may seem wasteful but I figure 2pts is worth it to make models wysiwg.
10 rough riders, 2 plasma gun and plasma pistol 119pts
10 rough riders, 2 plasma gun and plasma pistol 119pts
10 rough riders, 2 plasma gun and plasma pistol 119pts- These guys are men at arms. Not sure how effective they will be but they definitely seem to be improved. Not sure on weapon choice but plasma does seem to be the way to go.
Troops:
50 Conscripts 150pts- Unsure of these guys due to being slower than the rest of the army and lacking offense but they help use up spare point and I suppose might work as rear objective holders and will also be a good opportunity to model a Fyrd of some description.
2 individual super heavy detachments:
2 knight wardens 466pts each- Will probably become knight lancers when
FW release rules if points costs will allow it, warden appears to be the most effective though I am tempted by a crusader and attempting to model some scaffolding/rope on the shoulders from which peasants are loading the cannon though not sure the scale of the models will work for this... hmm maybe rattlings....
Once again a fairly open ended post looking for feedback on everything from thematic or modeling ideas to efficiency improvements/rule mistakes which there no doubt will be with it being a new edition and all.
