Hi all,

I'm currently thinking of starting a WW1/WW2 themed Astra militarum army, to be used solely for friendly, fluffy games, and not at tournaments (FLGS ones are OK).

Here is a picture if the complete miniature from Anvil Industries trench fighter range:

What I want to do, is to be able to dual use the models, counting them as both a vanilla AM army, and also as the DKoK if I fancy a change. In your eyes, as long as the models are modeled to accurately represent their purpose, to avoid WYSIWYG mishaps, is this perfectly acceptable? I know the DKoK are more of a German WW1 themed army, but I just fancied something a bit different while maximising my options.

Of course its acceptable. Its your hobby (to borrow a new phrase coined by Gamesworkshop itself).

Just make sure all your miniatures are clearly modelled (as you say), so its crystal clear to your opponent what units are what. I'd also stick to using GW vehicles for the most part, such as the odd Chimera or Leman Russ.

I'll be using "Official" GW vehicles, just modeling the guns slightly different to give them a WW1/2 feel. That way, I can't be accused of modeling for advantage!

Outside of using them at a GW store (most won't allow that) you're good. Particularly as long as all the models are obvious what they're supposed to represent. Heck, that's why so many 3rd party IG models exist buddy!
