It's finally time! Today is the day for the very first Glacial Geek 8th Edition Battle Report! https://youtu.be/lk722UXPJoM In my inaugural 8th batrep my Dark Angels take on the T'au! The reports came in of xenos forces dug in on the planet. The T'au had recently wrested control of the Imperial planet from the local Planetary Defense Force and had secured their position in preparation for the expected Imperial counter assault. The Dark Angels were dispatched to retake this planet in the name of the Emperor and prepared to strike them hard and fast. Will the Unforgiven be able to drive back the xenos invaders, or will the T'au Empire be able to hold onto their position for the Greater Good? Watch and find out!

Overwatch can only be done by supporting units once right? By no means a expert on these new rules! Unit can overwatch as many times as it has been charged but not the supporting units multiple times.

Wounds do not fail over, only mortal wounds do, when you hit the ghost keel with the attack bike, all 4 wounds go to the drone.

Just to be clear not knit picking as I am loving the game and watching how the rules work!!

It is very clear, only on overwatch, even for the tau inch shenanigans

Not only can a Tau unit only fire supporting Overwatch once, but it cannot fire overwatch at all again in the current turn if it does so, even if it is itself charged later in the phase. I knew there was no way that even Tau overwatch should be as devastating as it was in that game. Still, it was cool seeing the new rules in action. I have to agree that the new edition is an improvement and should streamline the game some, and I look forward to trying it out for myself. I already think that Deathwing have been improved greatly, so maybe we'll see more of the First Company of the First Legion hitting tables!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

Thank you! Yeah we messed up the overwatch rule ... I'll be sure to get it right next time I inevitably face them ;-)
