What would be a good paint scheme that would tie in all the Aelves? I'm thinking about running all 3 factions as one in AoS and I would like some feedback on how it would look uniform! Any helpful tips are welcome!

Pick a thematic base color first then all the details and secondary colors can match their themes.

wood elves would be in the greens to reds
High elves..... blues and greens?
Dark elves are red to purple ish.

(generically)

i think a base theme color of yellow could work. (Autum wood elves, royal high elves in blue and yellow, Dark elves in yellow and purple or red.

Green seems an odd color for purple though.

imho

Perhaps a darker/muddier green to compliment the darker nature?

I think y'all are missing his point.

He wants to run all three armies as one. I don't think he wants to buy a unit of HE spears, DE spears, AND WE spears. Instead he's going to buy one unit of spears he can use for any of the three.

Combining HE and DE is easy enough. Just lighten the traditional DE purple to more of a lavender reminiscent of the pre-Sundering Army of Nagarythe.

WE get tricky. Since they're a guerrilla army they tend toward camouflage - greens and browns in the spring and summer; white, grey, and brown in the winter, and natural shades of red and orange in the fall. Perhaps the best idea would be to paint WE units in appropriate camouflage for the basing theme you choose, and give them a lavender token to indicate their participation the greater elven whole.

But that be what im saying he can keep everything sort of distinguished by having each different faction with a separate color while having 1 tie in color that can go across all factions.

So basically one color for the robes and a different one for the armour plates, for example?

That or maybe clothing. and a combination of armor.

I think Cloaks and Robes would work best as its the most visible but not every model has it.

You could do something like All Elves have Mythrial armor, and White clothing across the board. but wood elves have green cloaks, high elves blue, and dark ones purple.

or some concept like that.
