The gorkanaut gives you more bang for your buck, especially in
CC. Maybe find points to give the
kff to a big mek? Also I don't know if the
CPs are worth all the tax here--a spearhead + battalion gives 4CPs and lets you free up some space. The grots and stormboyz will probly die pretty quickly with the new morale rules. If you want to go walker crazy, just bring more deff dreads instead of kans and maybe stick a banner nob in the G/Morkanaut and pop out when you want the
ws buff.
I played 2 dreads along a green tide list vs tau the other day and he couldn't kill the dreads before they got into
cc because of my
kff big mek following them (i even forgot i could repair d3 wounds on them a turn). I gave them 2 skorchas/2 klaws and cooked so many fire warriors. My opponent had a stormsurge and a broadside aiming at them for the first 2 turns.
I agree kans are not as reliable as they could be with the leadership issues--I tried 2 units of 6 kans vs the same tau player in a different game and he dinged 1 to death with gun drones, and then another died to morale
If you're looking for a gun platform I would do a battlewagon or a trukk full of multiple tankbusta units. You can fire them one unit at a time instead of having to declare the whole unit's targets. You also get more free nobz this way so the units are 1 wond more durable if they have to get out, and you get to throw more tankbusta bombs.
