Hi all, I'm toying around with my list at the moment and I'm looking at Thunderfire Cannons, the Stormraven I currently own, Dreads and LRs. One or two of the guys at my FLGS play T'au and the one guy is adamant he can't be beaten in shooting (which he is probably right to say ) but it got me thinking, with the number of Heavy Support and Elite 'shooty' units that the Marines have access to, surely they could give T'au a run for their money? Perhaps I'm trusting too much in my army's ability

Used to play Crimson Fists back in the day. Now a new Tyranids player after a long break.

Tau shooting got pretty heavily nerfed into 8th edition

Their best shooting options are vastly more expensive now.

Crisis Suits are about 2x more expensive, and Broadsides are about 3x more expensive. Compound this with the fact that Markerlights are also less impactful...

Any decent shooting faction should be able to rival, or perhaps even outgun Tau in 8th.
