Well, like the title says. Here's my first go for the test game. Wanna try some all comers list. The furioso is there because I want to see if the 8" base move with advancing with the fragioso with possible reroll let's me shoot the damn frag cannon. I was long thinking building the list with plasma cannon devs and captain near the unit and the las predator, but this is more fluffy?

Here's the list:

Vanguard detachment (+1 CP) 700 points

Lemartes
7man death company + jump packs + power fist&boltgun + inferno pistol + power sword
7man death company + jump packs + power fist&boltgun + inferno pistol + power sword
Furioso dreadnought + frag cannon + furioso fist + heavy flamer + magna grapple

Batallion detachment (+3 CP) 1300 points

Commander Dante
Sanguinary priest + jump pack + power sword

6man Sanguinary guard + 4x plasma pistol & encarmine axe + 2x angelus boltgun & encarmine sword + 6x death mask

5man scout squad + 5x sniper

5man tactical squad + multi-melta +combi-melta
5man actical squad + heavy flamer + combi-flamer
Rhino + storm bolter

Predator + twin lascannon + lascannon sponsons
Baal predator + twin assault cannon + heavy bolter sponsons

Thoughts? Has the BA feel in it? jumpers probably DS upfront, fragioso deploys as close as possible. Both tactical squads enter the single rhino and all the vehicles will most likely advance tight together giving cover for each other if neccesary (depending on opponents targets which vehicle is more "valuable".

You might want to concentrate the infernus pistols in one squad.

Looks pretty good; just make sure that those death company get into close combat quickly so they can get to work and tie down your opponent's hardest hitters. Do the DC have one or two wounds, just out of curiosity?

I saw with eyes then young, and this is my testament.

I don't think DC are best used vs the hardest hitters. They are really anti-horde. Get VV with stormshields for the enemy elites.

Martel: you're right, I swapped them to while I was doing this post "equal threat", but yeah easier target priorising with possibly more potent damage, too bad that I only magnetized the backpacks of my DC when build on the era of 7th ed.

Aetare: 1W 6+ "fnp". Lemmy gives an 6" reroll charge bubble for DC, so they will definitely try to get that T1 charge. Also the SG seems on the paper a force to reckon with.

Fair enough, and I agree with Martel on focusing on squishier targets; my mistake. You could always try to buff the DC with a librarian for added pain.

I think BA are going to want to shoot the toughest targets and then punch out hordes. That's my vision right now. Infernus pistols are definitely part of my plan, because they can't be silenced by assault.

I can tell you that my tac squad with plas/combi-plas in a las/plas razor is making a comeback for sure. Plasma makes a lot of things I fear go away.

I think Plasma Pistols are great for BA jump units. Cheap, and can fire on a Jump Pack Assault.

Infernus probably best used on mounted squads where your more likely to get into the range of the pistol after disembarking vs the 9" minimum of Jump Pack Assault.

Depends on whether I can deep strike behind a building, and then jump into infernus range or not. I worry that tanks loaded with infernus are going to get prioritized.

Keep in mind there's no reason to run powerfists over thunderhammers on non character units anymore. Both cost the same amount of points and have the same stat line, except the hammer does 3 wounds instead of the fists D3.

The only thing you lose is the pistol which, if you're trying to use the DC marine to chomp on vehicles or MCs, you don't need.

That's true, I have one thunder hammer and one DC with PF & pistol so I can use those. I'll just drop the magna grapple from the furioso.

Damn, do I really need to buy a razorback.. got four rhino hulls magnetized from a baal and two preds and a one bare bones. But not a single razor..

I'm starting to have new thoughts on the melta alpha striking.

Three variations with jump pack vets with and without a accompanying captain with a jump pack to give those pesky rerolls of 1.

2 vets with jump packs and melta and combi-melta is about 74 points when 3 vets is 110. That's cheap, cheaper than it was 7th ed. Meltacide has a new face. Add storm shields, it's just 125 points 3man 9" meltacide from enemy T1 with 3+ inv. save. Drop a captain with them for those rerolls. Plasma might also be an option with the captain, but think I'll test a 2-3 man unit(s) without a captain.

What do you guys think of the above?
