-- The idea is to rush the wave serpents full speed at the enemy and then pop out in a big blob so asurmen can give everyone a 5+ invuln and Jain Zar can deny overwatch for the banshees. I thought the avatar might be cool on top of all that because he lets units re-roll their charge range; though i did leave some points out for adjustments. I've been thinking that an autarch may be better than the avatar. What do you guys think?

I don't think the Avatar can fit in a Wave Serpent so Prince Yriel or some Warlocks might fit your theme better.

I think Doom will be necessary for Banshees.

The Avatar will get some protection from shooting as long as he is not the nearest target.

It is not something I have seen and 8th is still so new; try it out and see what it can do.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

unless you're dead set on playing only craftworld there's no reason not to take a harlequin troupe all with embraces instead of the banshees, they have the same AP but they are strength 4 and get 2 extra attacks per model. A squad of 5 like this costs 105 points and they can advance and assault in the same turn, always have a 4+ invuln save, and if you take a troupe master for 65 points they can reroll all wound rolls.
