Hey guys,
Ok, so I've managed to get some test games over 2 days. (Yay for holidays)
With some model reps, I've managed to test quite a few models in the Chaos book in a game. 8 games total.
My finds so far,
Chaos Daemons Greater Daemons die too fast and too easy. (Mainly Bloodthirsters)
If you don't get first turn, guess what the first target of the big guns is... then he moves slow and gets shot more.
Only solution is play on a scenery dense board. :( (That I found anyway).
I've more or less replaced my Daemons with Chaos Marines now. Or atleast, so far it seems that they are the stronger option.
My current list -
Chaos 2000 Pts - ?? Command Points (Work in progress)
Battalion Detachment -
HQ -
2x Daemon Prince - 360pts
MoN, Wings, Talons
Troops -
3x 10 Poxwalkers - 90pts
Flyers -
2x Helldrake - 430pts
Baleflamer, Talons
Elite -
Noxious Blight Bringer - 73pts
This brings me to 953pts total.
Daemons cannot be shot at because of the helldrakes.
Pox walkers do not take moral checks so I can just sit them on an objective without the fear of dying to moral.
The Blight Bringer is there to make the Pox Walkers run faster.
Now I still have half an army to build and have been considering the below combinations.
So, at the 1000 pts my army was strong. It was actually REALLY strong, it had a Skittari and a Tau player scratching their heads trying to think out of it.
Their only suggestion was to deepstrike something of their own within charging distance of the Daemon Price. (not smart)
So I have a fairly solid 1000pts so far.
But in the larger games it varies so much.
I don't want to bring too many D3/
D6 damage weapons as those are useless against hoards.
While I also want some way of taking big gribblies out.
I'm thinking, Obliterators turn up in turn 1. XX" away from their target. They have assault weapons so have no penalty.
They are tough and 4 units of them lets me place them where I want and dominate board control early.
However, taking on hoards is an issue as they are only Assault 2.
Im really stuck! Help!
