Mob rule reads that you use the leadership characteristic of an orc unit within 6"

Purge soul reads compare leadership value.

Is there a difference / distinction? or are these words interchangeable?

not entirly sure, but I can imagine that characteristic means the number as on paper, without modifiers and value the current leadership, so with modifiers etc.

That can't be true because Mob Rule also means an Ork unit has a Ld equal to it's model count.

I think terms are very much interchangable.

We ultimately played them as interchangeable. It was more efficient for me to cast smite than it was to cast purge soul anyway, and i rolled really well getting 6 mortal wounds, so i can't complain.

My impression of morale is that they flipped it. Orks now have the immunity that marines once enjoyed.
