Hello all I am going to create a dark angels successor chapter with the new marines. The question is Do they still have the Deathwing in the same manner as the Dark Angels?Do they also have the Ravenwing? and if yes what colors do they paint them the same as Dark angels? Cause the angels of absolution are already white and doing the deathwing bone white? or should I paint them as I like?
I would really appreciate your answers Thank you all for your time

Almost all Dark Angels successors keep the same company structure - 1st Deathwing, 2nd Ravenwing, Battle, Reserve & Scouts. However, sometimes they will give different names to those companies.

As far as colour schemes go, the 4th edition book implies that all AoA are painted the same bone-colour, but I haven't been able to find an official picture of that.

With the new marines, it could be difficult to see where they fit in the existing companies anyway - are the bouncy ones Deathwing because of the heavier armour? Or Ravenwing because they're the 'equivallent' of bikes? Uncharted territory.

The Dark Angels uniquely have different colors for the first and second company; the reason for the Bone-White Terminators change depending on which edition of the fluff you read (either it was due to some unspoken secret I can't quite recall right now, or that it was to honor a group of terminators who defended one of their recruiting worlds from Genestealers, and the world's tradition was that warriors who were about to die would smear themselves with a white bone powder to represent their consignment to death).

The Ravenwing is black because that was the original Legion Colors and they decided that the first and second companies should retain their ancestral colors while the rest of the company changed to green in the wake of the Fall of Caliban. Of course, the above incident changed the 1st company, hence why only Ravenwing retains the black coloring.

The Successors of the Dark Angels do not have this restriction as they neither have to honor whatever caused the 1st company to change their colors nor are they obligated to retain the former legion colors.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
