I have wondered about swapping one of the Stormtalons for a Stormhawk Interceptor. This will help against other fliers a bit better, and is great vs tau suit builds as all their suits have the fly key word

Another consideration is dropping one of the 125pt vanguard veteran squads for a Company veteran Squad with jump packs and 2 Combi-Plasmagun to sit on objectives (this would make them a "blood angel" army). They still get 2A each, can shoot out 24" and overwatch as needed

Looks very fast, mobile and fun! Those Assault canons will be really helpful in putting out a lot of firepower.

Would it be worth swapping a Stormtalon for a Stormhawk do you think?

Also considered making thema BA successor and taking a Company veteran with jump pack squad with boltguns and two Combi-plasma to go and sit on objectives instead of one of the Vanguard veteran squads

If you run the whole army as Charcharadon proxies with BA chapter keywords and rules across the board you should be fine honestly I'm okay with leaving the storm-talons as-is due to the fact that fliers aren't as terrifying in 8th, only benefiting from a -1 to hit from their opponents.

They would be a 'successor' chapter as described at start of the BA entry, so no named BA characters, just their rules for more assault marines (When the codex is released this may change to Raven guard if they can be assaulty, what ever fits the theme best).

I was thinking an interceptor as Icarus cannon hits flyers on 1+/+4 vs Ground, Assault Cannons/Typhoon hit flyers on 2+/ground 3+

Stormtalon however is 2+ vs ground but 4+ vs air. So between the two I would have a lot of to hit chances vs air and ground.

I haven't played 8th or even attempted to use the SM Fighter but I have always been a fan of stormtalons. I've seen some batreps where they use fliers to try and snipe characters who are positioned poorly

Okay I see with the successor chapter business! I'm honestly not sure about which way to go with the flyers though... I haven't run either option with much consistency.
