after much deliberation I've picked my starting point
for 8th. here's my GK list!

draigo

stormraven with melta, lascannon, hurricane bolters
stormraven with melta, lascannon, hurricane bolters
5 purifiers with 2 incinerators
5 purifiers with 2 incinerators
5 purifiers with 2 incinerators
5 purifiers with 2 incinerators

dreadknight with sword, teleporter, heavy incinerator and heavy psycannon
dreadknight with sword, teleporter, heavy incinerator and heavy psycannon

draigo being able to twin link those storm ravens and dreadknights is huge. and a 6 inch bubble is workable. tons of high strength dakka for taking down hard targets. I will be deepstriking draigo and the knights always.

null deploy let's me avoid getting shot to he'll right off the get go. since I don't scatter or roll for reserves I think that's how I want to start 8th.

and since the ravens can each carry 12 models with no squad limit I can pack 2 units of purifiers in each.

jumping out with 4 incinerators and then a charge with force weapons followed up with supersmite if I even have one model left alive sounds good to me.

i think this gives me a solid list for all scenarios. good shooting, great movement when you include gate of Infinity. great psychic. great close combat.

You can't null deploy in this edition. Can do two ravens on board and the knights in reserve thou. I'd switch the incinerators for psilencers on the knights if your deepstriking them. They can't reach when you drop and psilencers are actually the best weapon of the 3 in 8th. Might give you some points for a daemonhammer or two in a squad.

I think the heavy incinerator has 12 inch range so should be fine. Psilencer is a good choice to take advantage of the Draigo rerolls though.

The stormravens and their cargo will need to start on the board, hopefully you'll be able to park them pretty much wherever to avoid fire thanks to their impressive movement.

Purifiers need to be switched to Psilencers in my opinion. All your opponent has to do is kite you and you won't be able to do anything with them.

Psilencers are the mathhammer choice at this point for effectiveness.

Also Draigo providing a 6" bubble to the stormravens isn't like to be reliable. They are way too fast for him to stay with them and 240pts for a reroll is a lot of points to spend.

Brother-Captain Stern might be a better option because he allows the purifiers to double the range of their smite which is much more effective than the incinerators will be at only 2" less range with him near by.

Obvioulsy my list is different but I made the changes that I would make based on your units choices. Feel free to ignore me completely! Just my 2 cents.

I would even consider dropping the second Heavy Psycannon and giving a Daemon hammer to 3 of your purifier squads.

yea the ravens are on the board to start. I only plan on twin linking them once to being down something nasty. since draigo can deepstrike with no scatter.

with that said, gate of infinity will let him jet around ro either get into the fight when hes needed or give his reroll to the ravens or dreadknights.

i think stern is useless to be honest...regular rite of banishment smite is pretty kinky and the purifiers intend on getting right up close anyways so the 3" range doesn't matter.

I'm not bought in on the psilencer hype. the dreadknights BS weakens as they get hurt sobitll be far less accurate. and I don't need the d3 damage when I'm clearing out hordes. I'd rather autohit at higher strength with some ap. plus the overwatch is invaluable.

i do have about 50 pts extra to buy a few hammers on the champions in the purifier squads which I'll probably do. dunno if it'll amount to much... 2 attacks hitting on 4 with no instant death probably won't end up doing anything but hey.. have extra points so why not
