I assume that this has been brought up already but I just have to ask, did someone screw up the name or is there some meaning to this?

I was reading an old WD(261, from 2001) where Tau and Bretonia where first introduced. There was an ad for a book called Dark Imperium in it (se the top picture) so figured I'd just post and check. Kind of fun if they messed up the name. Did they just simply forget there already is an Dark Imperium book?

As a side question, is the old book any good?

Interesting. The original looks to be a collection of stories while the new one is a novel. Could be as simple as that.

Probably just reusing names, as the name of that original book is just a name that doesn't really have a baring on the contents.

This is 40k. Surely we can have a Dark Imperium within the Dark Imperium?

I have the original book, it's a collection of short stories. Not read it since it came out so can't remember any details, but generally the quality of the early short stories varied wildly to the point I stopped buying the them.
