So with primaris marines release I'd like to use this as a driving force to paint more. I've had a big space marine army for a long time without having painted more than half a tac squad which really sucks, regardless I'd really like to do more and with some of my models, like my orks, I'm happy with them and am enthusiastically painting them as you read this(thanks to 8th), but the mountain of aged piecemeal marines need to get sorted. Some will be sold, some repurposed to my new chapter. So yeah sorry about that waffle.

So I'd like to do a chapter that likes to do ambushes and stealth assaults or similar tactics etc. Kinda like raven wing. But I don't really want to do black but could be persuaded, I think I'd like to do BROWN or GREY. So I'm looking at storm vermin grey spray or mournfang brown spray. What are people thoughts on these colours and what colours would go well with them and which they think would be fun to paint. My philosophy for the paint scheme will be speed and easy over most things as I can always find ways to elaborate any models I want to but finding an effective simple scheme is very important to stay motivated. Any spray paints in these colours that people know off I'd be very greatful. Thanks x

I'm casting my vote for dark grey; it's got a little more pop to it than just black, but still really captures the feel of night ops and covert ops that it seems like you're going for. A good base and some crisp highlights could make for a really cool color scheme.

Are you considering camouflage? If so, a beige base w/ colours would do well. Perhaps go funky pattern-breaker camo to keep it "sci fi" and odd but useful?

Dark grey.. Maybe like a German eikd grey.

Its pretty dark but not black.
