G'day all,

I've been collecting Eldar for about a year now and using the stock GW paints, and the price is starting to get to me. I really need a cheaper alternative that works as well, preferably sold in Australia.

I can ship from webstores if there is good alternatives there.

Cheers

vallejo paints? They are Spanish but sold in the US, so I imagine they are sold in Australia as well.

Model paints are going to be a bit expensive, but they are generally worth it.

Now if you make some terrain, use cheep craft paints, they are fine for that.

Yeah, paints will always be a bit pricey - but I know GW stuff is insane in Australia. I'd look at Vallejo, or consider buying a large starter set from abroad?

As a fellow Aussie, I understand exactly what you mean. Unfortunately they are all a very similar price. Even online you would be lucky to buy them for $4 (AUD) each but mostly they are around the $5-6 AUD mark regardless of brand (vallejo, tamiya, GW and others are mostly the same cost).

Paints is the one thing I won't skimp on, however primer (super cheap auto sells care primer which is just as good), tools (any hobby store or supermarket or tool shop sells cheaper stuff) and brushes (I don't skimp, I buy W&N series 7 for about $20-$25 AUD per brush online which last for ages) I won't buy GW.

If you find vallejo bottles for same as GW paint that\s already about 33% off the price. 17ml vs 12ml. Plus superior bottle system that leads to less waste.

Hi there,

I am working on an alternative paint range that cost wise would be affordable to ship to Australia.

I'm just waiting on sample packs to be ready and shipped out to get feedback on the paint and any changes that could be made. (Unfortunately I have no more left to send out)

If the feedback is positive, it might just answer your question.
