So this works off the premise that a Flyer in one detachment can deploy transporting units from another detachment. If that's not the case...well, crap.

Battalion-

Helbrecht

Chaplain w/ Fist

2 Crusader Squads- 5 Marines. SB w/ Hammer and Plasma Pistol, Fist, Plasma Gun

Crusader Squad- 5 marines. SB w/ Hammer and Plasma Pistol, Fist, Flamer

Vanguard- 10 Marines. Dual Claws, Hammer, 3 Plasma Pistol, 2 Storm Shields

Landraider Crusader w/ TLAC and Hurricanes

Ironclad w/ Siege Hammer, Hurricane Bolter, Heavy Flamer

Airwing Detachment

Stormraven w/ Stormstrikes, TLAC, Hurricanes, TLHB

2 Stormtalons w/ TLAC, Typhoons

Helbrecht and the 3 Crusaders go in the LRC, Vanguards, Chaplain and Ironclad go with the Raven. I've been doing a whole lot of tinkering since 8th rules came out (as most of you have I'm sure) and struggling to get a coherent list with the models I have. Losing Drop Pods as Ironclads transports really kills me, but the Raven is such a ruthless gun platform that I don't mind taking 1 along in the end. I'm not dead set on specific weapon load outs in particular, but I think I have a decent mix of smashy smashy and pew pew...?

The other issue that haunts me with any list I make is the number of units. Until disembarkation, every gun in range only has to choose between 4 targets. LRC and Raven may be durable, but I'm worried they can't soak up that much firepower until their death babies pop out.

I think you'll be surprised at how much fire that stormraven can soak up. Stuff an ironclad in it and treat it like the world's meanest drop pod.

You could otherwise run two AC razorbacks and a rhino together instead of the LRC for 15 less points to make the enemy contemplate their options more, but if it's me, I'm probably most concerned with the LRC headed to my face since Helbrecht is gong to make those MSUs hurt. 1 ironclad can be screened or tied up, but the buffed crusaders are a different story.

You could also go triple ac razors, but that's an extra 13 points over the cost of that LRC.

Thanks for the info, and I'm glad to hear a word of praise for the Raven's durability. If that goes boom, it takes a lot of the army with it

If it wasn't for Helbrecht, I'd give that triple ACRazor plan a harder look, but concentrating all three Crusader Squads (which are mediocre at best solo without Tactics for the time being) and the LRC on to him is helpful for concentrating his buff radius for the initial smashing and bashing after disembarking. Plus, it's Templars. You are required by law to include one LRC in your army on penalty of death!
