what would be the best ork army you can buy for about £100 (leaving me enough money to buy all the paints and everything) as I am starting a new army, I started late 2015, played until june 2016 then took a year break, and i want to get into orks after i sold all my necrons (they really performed terribly against the most popular army at my store, ultramarines)
Spoiler:
I also made a little list having 2 squads of Nobz, a Deff Roller Battlewagon and Mad Dok Grotsnik

also I'd prefer an army with 2 squads of units, a vehicle and a HQ

Get old fantasy orks choppa boys plastic and maybe even painted well for super cheap. Add boltguns or pistols to one hand of a few of them. You might be able to get thirty boys for less than ten pounds with round bases if you try. Get a couple of used wagons or trucks. Also consider old imperial vehicles and use those as looted wagons. No rules for those yet but just play them as tucks or wagons your choice. If you find the right old vehicles to orkify the you could get two or three for twenty pounds or thirty I bet. Lots of old orks out there for characters. Maybe buy the start collecting box. Find some old squigs from fantasy and convert them to bomb squigs. Get a few dozen gretchin. Can be had al!most free if you opt for old second edition models but I like the old metals and these can be had also for little. Add some killa kanz and maybe a dread. Should leave you room for paints.

If you aren't opposed to second hand, you should be able to get the Ork side of Assault on Black Reach for half your budget at the very most. Can spend the other half on two trukks or one Battlewagon.

Keep in mind Grotsnik isn't an HQ anymore.

If buying old, basically look for any good deals you can get that doesn't have melty plastic bits and roughly 50% or less the MSRP cost.

If buying new: Start Collecting Orks is a very good place to start. comes with a box of Boyz, a Box of Nobz, a Deff Dread and a Painboy (which can be converted to the Mad Dok if so desired). Alternatively, if you're good at converting, the Start Collecting! Greenskins from Age of Sigmar can provide you with some boarboyz that can function as warbikers if you're good with converting. However that box is the same price and requires a lot of modifications (namely shoring up a lot of guns) to make them 40k-compatable.

Alternatively, if you can get your hands on them, Battle for Vedros is a repackaged Assault on Black Reach with a bit fewer items. Still it is a very good buy and you can get a decent amount of orks (and a snazzy Warboss, some nobz and a deffkopta) for little under half the cost of a Start collecting box, as well as some SMs you can trade or sell. Additionally, the Vedros line also contains the Build and Paint selection. The Ork Raiders is basically the same as the Ork half of the Vedros set, minus a few basic Orks (but still comes with all 5 nobz). You can then bulk it out with the Trukk Boyz set, which comes with 4 boyz and an old style trukk. All of these are pretty easy on the wallet I believe. In exchange they don't have much in the way of options since they're all snapfit models, but gives you MUCH more models for your buck. The Build And Paint series also comes with a rudimentary set of paints for your orks, a brush and some glue, so that can ease the sting of your hobby supplies (the brush is of debatable quality but I've used it and it's servicable).

I would drop the brushes, you can get better brushes for cheaper at either your local art store or another generalist hobby shop.

As for paints, Vajello has a good selection and quality for cheaper, but not many people have access to it if they don't have a local hobby shop nearby. I personally use dollar store paints, which not only functions well for a tabletop setting but also can last for (literally) a decade (no joke, I have a bottle of white paint still going after literally 10 years after I bought it).

Vallejo paints are cheaper and of equal quality that GW ones. Armypainter have very nice paints too.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I would suggest you hit up ebay, and buy as many 2nd hand cheap orks you can get. Assult on Black Reach models are great for this. Get 5 nobs and how many boys you can afford.

This edition is definitely favouring blobs of dudes, and if you can get 10 ork boys into a charge - it will ruin most unit's day.

Vallejo paints are easily available in the UK on Amazon. I've been using the Game Color starting set and the quality of the paints is great.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

Oops... I guess I didn't read far enough.
Wow.
Drop the brushes.
Sub for a different spray for less.
Glue can be worth it if you get the right stuff.
Add more plastic.
