So here we go left is shaded and drybrushed. Honestly i like the look of the unshaded one better. thoughts?

I prefer the one on the left: it has more definition and character. I for one do think that Marines need to be a bit banged up due to the nature of their role as shock troops.

Ultimately though, it's up to yourself!

I might go with a lighter drybrush. You need something to help bring out the details, the plain guy is a bit flat.

I use blue washes on my Ultras, it gives some shading, but keeps them clean. Also a brown wash on the golds warms them up nicely.

I think the left one would be better If you go lighter on the drybrush and the shade. Dont take too much of the Shade paint onto your brush and If needed do a second layer. But wait till the first one dries.
And of course what the other guy said, maybe try a blue wash like Drakenhof Nightshade.
