i like some of the MDF bases for replacing the old square bases but sometimes i think that they look a little weird because they dont have any bevel on their edge.
do any of you bevel your bases and if so how?

any ideas?

I don't, but I imagine it can't be that hard to do with a file.

It would be faster with a belt sander and a jig to lock the angles down, though.

CHAOS! PANIC! DISORDER!

you could with a sharp hobby knife but i wouldn't unless you were super precises. nothing is uglier than a very wobbly looking base.

If your not looking for perfect precision the old Dremel type tool could be used. I use bass wood or balsa wood when making my own bases, much easier to work with. Both can be cut with just a hobby knife.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

You could probably make a mini lathe by drilling a hole dead center for a bolt and nut then sand them as they turn

but that is a LOT of effort.

Do what I do;
1) Leave model on base and glue it to the mdf base.
2) Buy tile grout and build up round plastic base edge.
3) Natural bevel!

Yeah, i was hoping for a tool to make it easy and uniform but it doesn't sound like that's possible.
Thanks all.
