Hey,

I hope this fits in-here as I was unsure about where to post such a question...

I'm building my first vignette with a Dunecrawler on it and was thinking about custom decals. I would also like to extend this into a custom banner eventually to have units carry it.

Now to my question... What would be some "must have" elements to feature? Unit numbers (1, 2, 3 or I, II, III), slogan, anything else?

Many thanks in advance!

Whatever you want really. It could be anywhere from just an emblem to adding extra crap like squad numbers, or kill markings, or some motto.

Thanks, n0t_u! It's not really making it any easier

By the way, in case you have any pointers to custom designs you've seen or use that you think are cool, please do not hesitate to post them

Thanks!

Logo design is communicating an idea in a simple manner. Use the fewest elements to express the idea. Which is even more important when considering the size you're going to print the decal at. Take NFL teams for example the Houston Texans or Dallas Cowboys logos have two elements each in their design. They get the point across simply and can work at any scale. The Oakland Raider's logo on the other hand has 5 elements and gets muddled as it gets smaller.
