Confirmed in the new FAQ

You don't need Line of Sight or need to move in a straight line to charge something.

So you can now charge in Zig Zags, Around Corners, Thru Buildings/Walls

Nothing is stopping you.

Why should this be unexpected? AFAIK WHFB required LOS and a straight line for a charge.

Well it makes sense. You are not going to be able to shoot someone if they charge around a corner and are right in your face. It will just mean that people have to be more careful in their movements and over their angles. Going into dense terrain against a melee force really should be a dangerous idea, and this achieves that.

Speaking as someone who plays a faction of fast melee units who ignore terrain entirely when moving, this makes me rather happy.

Speaking as a Guard player, it makes me happy too. I want street-to-street fighting to be a bloody and dangerous affair. However, I think I would be happier if flamers ignored LOS requirements, as I think that would fit the weapon rather well. They would be perfect at clearing out foxholes and setting up walls of flame against assault, and make them an awesome weapon to take into a city, as they should be.

Vigo. Spain.

Did this mean that I can afix bayonets in my Firewarriors and make them yell "BANZAAAAI!" charging a unit of Orks from behind bushes and trees in a Jungle map taking them for surprise?

Neat!

Get back to the Deffkopta!

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Line of sight not being needed is new.

Not having to move in a straight line isn't - not in this editions rulings anways.

The only rules that must be followed:

First model moved must end within 1" of an enemy unit that it charged. The rest of the models then get to move up to their Charge roll in inches.

This is VERY important - it means you can avoid woods, if one of your units can reach the target you are charging; the rest can walk around the woods, potentially being out of attack range, but not slowing the rest of the squad down by 2".

Keep your units entirely within the woods, and 1" deep in a woods at minimum to avoid this.
