Hey so i dont know if this has been addressed but the codex index has bloat drones at 99 points without gear and the DI Death guard booklet has them at 143 without gear. Am i reading this right?

You are, all the points seem different.
Just use the index points.

Yeah, I would say full publication trumps box game references.

that said this is DEFINATLY something we should ask GW, as it's IMHO simply a matter of "ok so what was printed last and is most up to date in this case?" but yeah assume the higher index cost, that way iuf GW says "the box costs" you can be pleasently suprised

As far as I know, GW are aware of this. I believe they sent out an email to their staff saying the index is correct.

Index is correct - people have a hard time grasping that the 3+ month lead time to produce, package, ship, and deliver the Dark Imperium gameboxes versus the much shorter lead time of printing books could lead to differences in balance/text.

The only people who want to use the cheaper points costs are the people who want to WAAC; which I have no intention of playing against.

Index is the way to go,until a codex comes out.

Asking what is the correct cost is hardly being WAAC. we've got two differant sets of points, it's fair to ask what is the correct one. most people assume it's the index, but always fair to ask

But... It is the index that is cheaper. So does that make everyone using the Index a WAACer? Does that mean you are encouraging everyone to be a WAACer?

most likely what happened is after doing some testing of the boxed set contents they found out that primaris units where better then anticipated and DG units where worse. so they tweeked the points

Index is the cheaper option, which you'd know if you read the OP and didn't come diving into a thread with an axe to grind.

Incidently, I asked on the 40k facebook page, and they confirmed that we should use the indexes
