Been Around the Block

Picked up my 8th Edition box today, built and primed 5 Primaris Intercessors and started work on a project I have wanted to do for a long time:
Mantis Warriors

I'm not a fan of the scale difference between normal Space Marines and Primaris marines, so I won't be mixing them in the same army, but I hope to do a full force of replenished Mantis Warriors, depleted after their penitence crusade with Primaris marines. We will see how it goes.

This was a quick/rough base coat color test (with a little shading). I wanted something really vibrant, and am pleased with how it turned out. Got a lot of 8E reading to do, so this is all I am going to do for the day, but will try and finish the model tomorrow (save the decals/transfers which I will need to print later in the week).

Thank you!

I decided to keep going tonight. Had some tactical arrow decals that will work for Mantis Warriors. Just need to get my buddy to print the Chapter decal, and this guy will be finished.

Really nice work. You could use that round disc on his backpack as another spot for a chapter symbol, just paint it yellow also. Just an idea.

Thanks all.

The decal source was Bolter & Chainsword:

I got the rest of the decals on the Sergeant. May have to pause a bit due to a busy schedule, but hope to finish out the Intercessor squad shortly.

Yeah, they're really great. I'm surprised at how good they look as I don't usually got for those green or yellow in such vibrant forms, but here... top stuff!
